Most talk is political—not in the sense that it focuses on government ideology, but in the sense of the phrase, ‘politically correct’. We talk to be comforted; we talk to assure ourselves we are not alone in the dark. It is political talk in that it involves a profusion of words designed to avoid the dangers of causing offense, or of being challenged. – E.O.
