Socialism

Socialism is built on a powerful Christian tradition of mutual support: He who gathered much had nothing left over, and he who gathered little had no lack. But in practice it has always greatly underestimated the power and pervasiveness of sin. Socialism’s heavy demands have invariably required totalitarian oversight. Nor has it adopted such practical elements as: he who is unwilling to work shall not eat. – E.O.
